The 32 seeded players (highest ranked players per the WTA Tour or ATP Tour ranking system) are placed on the draw: No. 1 is put on the first line, No. 2 on the last line and then the others in alternating order on pre-determined lines. Once the seeds are in place, the other players are drawn at random and placed on the empty lines starting at the top of the page and going down the draw until it is filled. The public is welcome on a free admission basis to watch the WTA Tour Singles Main Draw and the ATP Tour Singles Main Draw at the Stadium Plaza. Dates and times will be announced closer to the event.
Details for individual match times during the event will be released once tournament rescheduling plans for later in the year are finalized.
The next day’s schedule is determined by the tournament referee, WTA Tour and ATP Tour supervisors, broadcasters and the tournament director each late afternoon/evening. At approximately 7:00pm each evening, the schedule and match times are posted on the BNP Paribas Open website and social media channels.
The tournament is proactively working with the ATP and WTA Tours as well as title sponsor BNP Paribas to confirm dates later in the year to hold the 2021 BNP Paribas Open. Details will be released in the near future as plans are finalized.
In the event of rain that results in the cancellation of a session, we will attempt to accommodate the ticket holder with a Grounds Pass ticket for a subsequent session, based on availability.
