5 Things to Watch on Tuesday

by BNP Paribas Open
03/11/2019

1.

Michael Keeth Band: Come on out to the Village Stage from 5:00-7:00pm and enjoy the vocal stylings of one of the hardest working musicians in the Coachella Valley: Michael Keeth! If you’re looking for heartfelt, melodic rock songs performed by an incredible voice, then this is a concert you won’t want to miss!

2.

The Champions Volunteer Foundation: Stop by the Champions Volunteer Foundation booth to bid on once-in-a-lifetime opportunities such as the chance to do a coin toss on court before Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer begin their fourth-round matches on Stadium 1. All proceeds benefit local Coachella Valley non-profits.

3.

Bud Collins Media Award Presentation: Between Matches 2 & 3 on Stadium 1, join us in honoring the 2019 recipient of the annual Bud Collins Media Award, presented to the media member who has been integral in covering and supporting the tournament over a number of years. This year, the award is presented to Gino Lamont of NBC Palm Springs.

4.

Rafael Nadal vs Diego Schwartzman: Tuesday afternoon on Stadium 1, Rafael Nadal and Diego Schwartzman will go to battle in the desert. Nadal, a 17-time Grand Slam singles champion, is vying for his fourth BNP Paribas Open title. Meanwhile, Schwartzman will look to upend the Spanish tennis legend and ascend up the ATP rankings.

5.

Naomi Osaka vs Belinda Bencic: Fresh off of her straight-set dismissal of Danielle Collins on Monday, defending champion Naomi Osaka is back in action on Stadium 2. The world No. 1 is yet to drop a set during the tournament, and looks primed to make another run towards the title. Opposite her will be Swiss Belinda Bencic, who has outclassed her first two opponents in the desert. Can Bencic pull off a stunning upset under the lights?
