Top WTA Qualifying Match: In WTA Tour first round action, highly-touted American and 2017 US Open champion Sloane Stephens will take on British veteran Heather Watson. Stephens has proved many times that she has all the game necessary to be the last woman standing in the field, but will need to put all of her skills together to advance over a very game Watson. The 29-year-old is the former British No. 1 and has nine titles to her name throughout her career.
Top ATP Qualifying Match: Dutchman Botic Van De Zandschulp will take on American Thai-Son Kwiatkowski on Stadium 4 in the late afternoon on Wednesday from Tennis Paradise. With a spot in the men’s main draw on the line, Zandschulp will be looking to piggyback off of an incredible US Open performance where he not only reached the quarterfinals, but also was the only man to take a set off of eventual champion Daniil Medvedev. It’s a tall task for Kwiatkowski, the No. 239 ranked player who has a major upset on his mind.
