After a two-and-a-half-year hiatus, the 2021 tournament saw the action return to the Indian Wells Tennis Garden for the first-ever fall edition of the event. In one of the most wide-open player fields in the tournament’s history, Great Britain’s Cameron Norrie celebrated his first Masters 1000 title with a three-set win over Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili 3-6, 6-4, 6-1, while Spain’s Paula Badosa captured the women’s title with a thrilling 7-6(5), 2-6, 7-6(2) victory over two-time titlist Victoria Azarenka.

Tennis Paradise – as the BNP Paribas Open has come to be known throughout the tennis community – is beloved by players, fans, and media alike. With the stunning natural beauty and backdrop of the Coachella Valley highlighted by the world-class players who participate in the event, the award-winning tournament has become a must-see destination for tennis fans around the world. The Indian Wells Tennis Garden is widely recognized as one of the premier venues in all of sports, with unparalleled dining options; top-notch player facilities and amenities; and plentiful practice courts that let fans get up-close and personal with their favorite stars.

The Masters 1000 designation is the highest category on the ATP Tour, outside of the ATP Tour Finals, and includes the tournaments in Miami, Monte Carlo, Madrid, Rome, Cincinnati, Canada, Shanghai, and Paris, in addition to Indian Wells. The 1000 designation is also the highest tournament category outside of the Tour Finals on the WTA side, and includes the tournaments in Miami, Madrid, and Beijing, alongside Indian Wells.
