Former World No. 1 junior Shintaro Mochizuki broke into the Top 100 after reaching the quarterfinals in Almaty in October 2025 and set a career-high No. 92 the next month. In Tokyo in 2023, he snapped an 0–11 tour-level start by earning his first ATP win over Etcheverry, then scored his biggest victory over No. 10 Fritz en route to his first ATP semifinal. He won ATP Challenger titles at 2023 Barletta and 2025 Noumea.
