Machac had four wins over Top Ten opposition, including victories over No. 1 Novak Djokovic in Geneva and No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz in Shanghai. His victory over Alcaraz in Shanghai was the highlight of his semifinal run, marking his best finish at an ATP Masters 1000 event.
