Comfortable sitting in front of a piano, shouldering a steel-string acoustic guitar or strutting behind a microphone as she belts out searing lyrics that come from dark places, Carter is a dynamo who offers a delectable blend of the powerful and the sublime.
California born-and-raised Carter, who hails from Indio, is a fearless standout among the next generation of artists. She cut her teeth as a young teen busking on the streets of California's Coachella Valley, breaking into the public eye in 2024 with raw, soulful performances on American Idol that earned lofty praise from pop superstars Billie Eilish and Katy Perry.
Since winning Idol, Carter hasn’t skipped a beat. She headlined the 11,000-capacity Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, where she played an emotional homecoming gig to a packed house. Last spring, she held down the Mane Stage at the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, a performance that further solidified her as a performing tour de force.
Since winning American Idol, Season 22, in 2024, Carter has continued to follow her muse. Her critically acclaimed record “Ghosts in the Backyard” was released and she went on a wide-ranging US tour. Now, she’s back for another homecoming!
Carter’s earnest, edgy vocals and sensuous melodies tend to leave her fans spellbound, and her performances demand attention. You won’t want to miss this chance to see a homegrown talent return to her Southern California roots, right here at Tennis Paradise.
