Press Conference

J. SINNER/D. Svrcina

6-1, 6-1

THE MODERATOR: Questions.

Q. Obviously pretty nice performance from you tonight. What were you happiest with?

JANNIK SINNER: No, I felt like I was starting off very well, which gave me the confidence to continue, and, you know, we never faced each other, we never played each other, so I had to understand a little bit how his game was.

He's a very solid player, great mover, so I tried to move him around, and yeah, I felt like I was serving well in important moments still, and I think that was something very positive.

Q. Your next opponent hasn't been decided yet between Denis and Tomas. What are the different challenges you see in those potential matchups?

JANNIK SINNER: Yeah, completely different players. One righty, one lefty. Against Denis, we played in US Open, it was a very tough match. Against Tomas, we played in Shanghai. It was also there very tough.

It's gonna be a very tough encounter, but I'm happy to be back here and, you know, hopefully I can play some good tennis in the next round, which I have to if I want to win.

So I'm just happy to compete and, you know, enjoying the moment on court, as well.

Q. You talked about, especially at the Australian Open, adding more variety to your game. Are you having fun with that, adding different elements to your game?

JANNIK SINNER: Yeah, I mean, you have always to improve in a way, because, you know, everyone is changing small details, so you also have to be quite present in every practice session.

But, yeah, I mean, I like the way we're approaching the practice sessions and matches. You know, is something what I always look up to, and yeah, so there are still certain areas where I need to improve, where I need to feel like more confident in a way, but in the other way, I'm very happy to compete, and that's the most important.
