Southern California native Alex Michelsen is making his Indian Wells debut in 2024 after a strong start to begin his season. He is the youngest American ranked in the Top 100, and is coming off a 2023 campaign that saw him make his ATP Tour main draw debut (Mallorca), win his first ATP Challenger (Chicago) and receive his first Wild Card for a Grand Slam (US Open). He also competed as the only American in the 2023 Next Generation ATP Finals. Michelsen broke into the Top 75 of the rankings for the first time following a run to the third round at the 2024 Australian Open.
