Australia’s Alexei Popyrin earned a personal best 22 wins in 2021, but saw more success in 2023 with new career highs. He defeated No. 6 Felix Auger-Aliassime to reach the Adelaide quarterfinal, No. 9 Taylor Fritz to reach the Australian Open third round and then Auger-Aliassime again en route to what was then his best ATP Masters 1000 results with a fourth round appearance in Rome. 2023 continued to be a great season for Popyrin, who then made it one step further with a quarterfinal appearance at the ATP Masters 1000 in Cincinnati.
