Player Overview

The flamboyant young Frenchman surged to World No. 14 in April last year but slipped back outside the Top 40 by year’s end after shutting down his season in early August due to injury. He missed the 2026 Australian swing with a back injury. Last year Fils produced some of his best tennis at ATP Masters 1000 level, reaching three consecutive quarter-finals at Indian Wells, Miami and Monte-Carlo. His three-set loss to Carlos Alcaraz in Monaco - when the Frenchman led 3-1 in the third set - was voted by ATPTour.com fans as the best non-Grand Slam match of the year. Fils first broke into the Top 100 in 2023 after winning the Lyon title, becoming the youngest Frenchman to take an ATP Tour title since Gael Monfils in 2005.
