Player Overview

Ben Shelton comes into the BNP Paribas Open high on confidence after recently saving three championship points to defeat Taylor Fritz in the final of the Dallas Open. Shelton cracked the Top 5 for the first time in late 2025 after another strong showing at the Slams, which has earned him the nickname of ‘Box Office Ben’. He reached the semifinals of the Australian Open and the quarterfinals of Wimbledon. The big-serving lefty won the biggest title of his career last year at the ATP Masters 1000 in Toronto, a victory that helped him qualify for the ATP Finals for the first time. He has won one title a year for the past three seasons, also triumphing in Houston in 2024 and Tokyo in 2023. Coached in college and on the tour by his father, Bryan, Shelton played for the University of Florida, where he captured the 2022 NCAA men’s singles title and the 2021 NCAA men’s team title.
