San Diego’s Brandon Nakashima won the 2022 Next Gen ATP Finals champion and also owns one Atp Tour title, winning in his hometown at the 2022 San Diego Open. 2022 also saw him succeed at the Grand Slams, with third round appearances at Roland-Garros and the US Open and a career-best fourth round appearance at Wimbledon. He played college tennis at the University of Virginia, where in his only season he was the ACC Freshman of the Year and All-ACC First Team before turning pro.
