In 2020, Denis Shapovalov became the first Canadian men’s singles quarterfinalist at the US Open. His first Grand Slam semifinals appearance came the following year at Wimbledon as Shapovalov defeated two-time champion Andy Murray along the way. Shapovalov also upset No. 2 Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinals of the 2017 Montreal Open, and is just one of three Canadian men to have been ranked in the ATP Top 10. He recently picked up his first 500-level title at the 2025 Dallas Open.
