In 2020, Denis Shapovalov became the first Canadian men’s singles quarterfinalist at the US Open. His first Grand Slam semifinals appearance came the following year at Wimbledon as Shapovalov defeated two-time champion Andy Murray along the way. Shapovalov also upset No. 2 Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinals of the 2017 Montreal Open, and is just one of three Canadian men to have been ranked in the ATP Top 10.
