A native of Washington, D.C., Hailey Baptiste made her WTA Tour main draw debut in her hometown at the 2019 Citi Open, beating Grand Slam finalist and former Top 10 player Madison Keys in the first round. She has appeared in the main draw at Grand Slams on four occasions, with her best performances being second round appearances at the 2022 Australian Open and 2022 Roland-Garros. Baptiste also won a doubles title at the 2021 Charleston Open.
