2025 BNP Paribas Open runner-up Holger Rune is the highest-ranked male Danish player in history, reaching World No. 4 in August 2023. In 2022, aged 19, Rune defeated five Top 10 players, including Novak Djokovic in the final, to win the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris. Rune tore his Achilles in Stockholm last year and, following surgery, missed the Australian swing. Rune has reached three Grand Slam quarterfinals and defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the 2025 Barcelona Open final, securing his fifth career ATP title.
