The highest-ranked Dane in ATP ranking history, Holger Rune was also the first Danish man to reach any Grand Slam quarterfinal in the Open Era (2022 Roland-Garros). He returned to the Roland-Garros quarterfinal in 2023 and reached the quarterfinal of 2023 Wimbledon. His first ATP Masters 1000 title came at Paris 2022 when he defeated Novak Djokovic at age 19.
