Hubert Hurkacz missed seven months of the 2025 season due to knee surgery. But the former World No. 6 made up for lost time at the start of this year, teaming with Iga Swiatek to give Poland its first victory at the United Cup. Hukacz won four of his five singles matches, claiming Top 10 wins over Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz. In the final he toughed out a three-set win over Stan Wawrinka to send the tie to a deciding mixed doubles. Hurkacz has won eight singles titles across all three surfaces, including ATP Masters 1000 crowns in Miami and Shanghai. He boasts an impressive 84-47 record at Masters 1000 level. In 2021, Hurkacz reached his first Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon after defeating Roger Federer in the final singles match of the Swiss’ career. He has made seven BNP Paribas Open appearances, reaching the quarterfinals on debut in 2019 and again in 2021.
