A native of Southern California, Iva Jovic was the runner-up at the inaugural FILA International Junior Championships at Indian Wells in 2023. She also made her Grand Slam debut at the 2024 US Open, defeating Magda Linette in the first round to become the youngest American woman to win a US Open main draw match since 2000. She reached the second round again at the 2025 Australian Open in her tournament debut.
