China’s ‘Jerry’ Shang’s breakthrough season came in 2024, when he won 24 matches, including third-round runs at the Australian Open and the US Open. In September he won his maiden ATP title at the Chengdu Open, and shortly after broke into the ATP Top 50 for the first time. Injuries limited the creative left-hander to just eight Tour-level events in 2025, but he did make the Hong Kong semi-finals in the first week of the season and a crowd-pleasing run to the Shanghai third round on home soil.
