Northern California native Katie Volynets made her WTA 1000 debut as a Wild Card at the 2021 BNP Paribas Open. The following year, she again played at Indian Wells as a Wild Card, this time recording her first 1000-level win. 2023 saw her achieve the best Grand Slam result of her career, making it to the third round of the Australian Open.
