A WTA veteran for nearly a decade, China’s Lin Zhu makes her fourth appearance at Indian Wells on the heels of playing some of the best tennis of her career. Zhu won her maiden singles title at the 2023 Thailand Open, sparking her run to a career-best No. 31 singles ranking later in September. She nearly defended her title to start the 2024 season, finishing runner-up in Hua Hin, Thailand in January. Her best career finish at Indian Wells came when she reached the second round in her 2015 tournament debut.
