Boasting one of the most majestic one-handed backhands in the game, Lorenzo Musetti became just the third Italian in history to reach the Top 5 after making the Hong Kong final in the first week of the season. Soon after he led Novak Djokovic two sets to love in the Australian Open quarterfinals before retiring with a right leg injury. Musetti rose to the Top 10 for the first time in 2025, putting together a successful clay season that included a maiden 1000-level final at Monte Carlo and a Grand Slam semifinal at Roland Garros. Musetti won 19 matches at ATP Masters 1000 level last year, the equal second-best mark on Tour. In 2024, the Italian reached his first Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon and broke through at the Paris Olympics to capture the Bronze Medal in men’s singles. He has won two career ATP singles titles and was a part of the Team Italy’s squad that won back‑to‑back Davis Cups in 2023 and 2024.
