Maria Sakkari returns to Indian Wells after back-to-back finishes in the final (2022) and semifinal (2023) rounds. In 2021, she became the first woman from Greece to reach a Grand Slam singles quarterfinal and later semifinal (first at Roland-Garros and later at the US Open). Sakkari’s 2023 campaign saw her capture her first career Masters 1000 singles title at the Guadalajara Open.
