The reigning Wimbledon singles champion and Olympic singles Silver medalist from Tokyo, Marketa Vondrousova enters Indian Wells after a memorable 2023 year which saw her climb to a career-best No. 6 singles ranking and make her first career appearance at the WTA Finals. Vondrousova has a career-best singles finish in the quarterfinals at Indian Wells from 2019. She has reached the Round of 16 four times at the BNP Paribas Open including most recently in 2023.
