Italian Matteo Arnaldi has won 20 or more matches each of the past three seasons and reached World No. 30 in August 2024. But he may be best known to fans by his stunning second-round win over Novak Djokovic in the second round of the ATP Masters 1000 in Madrid last year. He also beat Frances Tiafoe en route to the quarterfinals in the Spanish capital. Indian Wells was also a highlight for Arnaldi last year as he reached the third round in just his second appearance in the desert. He reached the US Open fourth round in 2023 and the same round at Roland Garrosin 2024. He reached his first ATP Masters 1000 semifinal at the 2024 Canadian Open.
