The 2021 Indian Wells champion, Paula Badosa makes her fifth trip to the BNP Paribas Open following a return from injury which cut her 2023 campaign short. A semifinal finish at Indian Wells in 2022 helped spark a run which saw the Spaniard climb to a career-high ranking of World No. 2 in April 2022. Her best finish in a Grand Slam came as a 2021 Roland-Garros quarterfinalist and she also started the 2024 season strong with a third round finish at the Australian Open.
