Player Overview

Taylor Fritz produced one of the most courageous BNP Paribas Open final victories in 2022 when he defeated Rafael Nadal after coaches Mike Russell and Paul Annacone advised him against taking the court due to a serious ankle injury. The Southern California native became the first American men’s singles champion at Indian Wells since Andre Agassi in 2001. He also reached the Indian Wells semifinals in 2021 and the quarterfinals in 2023. Fritz, who served more aces (867) than anyone last season, won two titles in 2025 on the grasscourts at Stuttgart and Eastbourne, bringing his career count to 10. He achieved his best finish at a Grand Slam in 2024 with a run to the final at the 2024 US Open, and reached a career‑high ranking of World No. 4, the highest year‑end ranking of any American man since James Blake in 2006. Fritz won 16 matches at ATP Masters 1000 level last year, tied for seventh best on Tour.
