Tomas Martin Etcheverry broke through for his first ATP title in his fourth final in late February after winning the ATP 500 in Rio de Janeiro, defeating Alejandro Tabilo in the final. He had previously fallen in finals in Santiago, Houston and Lyon. He rose 18 places to No. 33 in the ATP Rankings. Etcheverry climbed to World No. 27 at the end of the 2024 season after reaching 30 match wins for the second consecutive year. He reached three finals in 2023-24 in Santiago, Houston and Lyon, also making the Roland Garros quarterfinals in ‘23. Etcheverry reached the third round of this year’s Australian Open, his best run at a major since reaching the same round at the 2024 US Open.He played the BNP Paribas Open in 2023 and 2025, but is yet to reach the second round.
