Seven-time Grand Slam singles champion Venus Williams makes her ninth appearance at Indian Wells and first visit since 2019. After injuries halted her 2023 season after the US Open, Williams makes her first tournament appearance since then at the 2024 BNP Paribas Open. The 30-year WTA veteran has reached the semifinals three times at Indian Wells (1998, 2001, 2018) and is a former World No. 1 in both singles and doubles. Williams has won 14 major doubles titles, all partnering with her younger sister Serena. Her combined total titles of 73 is the most of any active WTA player.
