Fast-rising Canadian teen Victoria Mboko cracked the WTA Top 10 in February after reaching the WTA 1000 final in Doha. The run included wins over 2026 Australian Open champion Elena Rybakina and Jelena Ostapenko. The 2025 WTA Newcomer of the Year burst onto the scene with a stunning maiden title on home soil at the Canadian Open. Entering the tournament as World No. 85, she ousted four former Grand Slam champions in Sofia Kenin, Coco Gauff, Elena Rybakina and Naomi Osaka to become the third Canadian to win the event. The teenager has since added a second title and made her Top 15 debut. This year marks her first appearance at the BNP Paribas Open.
