Japan’s Yosuke Watanuki had a breakthrough 2023 season which saw him crack the Top 100 for the first time and reach a career high No. 72 ranking. He reached the second round of his Grand Slam debut as a qualifier at the 2023 Australian Open, and later reached the second round as a qualifier in his Wimbledon debut. In 2024, Watanuki achieved his best 1000-level victory by reaching the third round at the Shanghai Masters.
