A native of San Diego, Zachary Svajda broke into the Top 200 in September 2023 after winning his second Challenger title in Cary, then set a career-high No. 102 in August 2024. He earned his first tour-level win at the 2021 US Open as an 18-year-old wild card (d. Cecchinato) and in 2025 qualified into the US Open, beat Piros for a tour-level win, then took a set from four-time champion Djokovic in the second round. A standout on the Challenger circuit (76–54, 6–1 in finals), he won his first Challenger title in Tiburon in 2022 (beating future Top 10 player Shelton) and added 2025 titles in Newport and Lexington.
