In 2025, Zeynep Sonmez reached the third round at Wimbledon, becoming the first Turkish player in the Open Era to advance to the third round of a Grand Slam, and also made the quarterfinals in Cairo and Vitoria. She won her first WTA singles title in Merida in 2024.
