Carlos Alcaraz carried out the FIFA World Cup trophy pre-game on Sunday.

There was no shortage of BNP Paribas Open titles in the house at Sunday's World Cup final in New Jersey.

Two-time tournament champion Carlos Alcaraz even had his own cameo on the big day, walking out the FIFA World Cup trophy pre-match alongside actress Jung Ho-yeon.

It was a good omen for the Spanish team, which defeated Argentina 1-0 in extra time.

Five-time Indian Wells champion Novak Djokovic also attended and pre-game showed off his skills alongside singer Justin Bieber and NFL legend Tom Brady in a penalty challenge in the FIFA Fan Festival.

Juan Martin del Potro, the 2018 champion in the desert, and Diego Schwartzman, left disappointed after Argentina narrowly failed to defend its 2022 title in what may have been Lionel Messi’s final World Cup appearance. Messi last year watched Djokovic compete at the Miami Open.

Two-time Indian Wells women’s champion Serena Williams also took in the game, as did Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Watching from afar, Rafael Nadal posted video of himself celebrating with friends. The 22-time Grans Slam champion triumphed in Tennis Paradise in 2009 and 2013.
