Fang-Hsien Wu made her Indian Wells main draw debut in 2018, and reached her career-high ranking after a strong run of play to open the 2025 season. This included winning back-to-back WTA titles at Auckland and Hobart alongside Xinyu Jiang, and reaching the final of the 1000-level Qatar Open.
