Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff played some of his best tennis in 2023, posting a career-high ranking and becoming the first lucky loser in ATP Masters 1000 history to reach a tournament final (2023 Madrid). Struff has a strong history at Indian Wells, reaching the fourth round of the BNP Paribas Open in 2019 and 2023.
