Two-time Grand Slam finalist (2017 US Open, 2018 Wimbledon) and seven-time ATP Tour champion Kevin Anderson is the highest ranked South African in ATP rankings history, reaching that mark after securing a career-high No. 5 in 2018. That same year, he also became the first South African to reach the semifinals at the Nitto ATP Finals. Anderson’s 2017 US Open performance also made him the lowest-ranked US Open finalist in history (No. 32), and the first South African US Open finalist in the Open Era. He was also a three-time All-American in singles playing collegiate tennis at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
