Press Conference

C. ALCARAZ/C. Norrie

6-3, 6-4

THE MODERATOR: Questions.

Q. There are now photos everywhere of you and the bee costume out there. Can you just talk about the bees now being part of your legend forever at Indian Wells?

CARLOS ALCARAZ: No, it's a funny story, because especially in Indian Wells, you know, what happened, it was the first time that I saw something like this, to be honest, on a tennis court.

So, you know, after that, it was more in this tournament that a bunch of people coming with a bee costume. So it's funny to see them in the stands, supporting with that costume.

Yeah, the other day, I was with them, you know, at the end of the match a little bit. Today they brought me a bee costume, and they started to, you know, say, like, Wear it, Wear it.

So I had to do it for them. They were cheering since the first point until the last one. So it was, like, all right, I had to do it. But, you know, it's funny.

Q. I remember when you played against Daniil here a few years ago, you had an incredible dropshot performance, if you remember. Whenever we ask Daniil about who has the best dropshot, he always mentions you. As an expert, who do you think has the best dropshot on tour?

CARLOS ALCARAZ: Well, the best dropshot... I have few in mind. Obviously Moutet, you know, is one of the best or he has one of the best dropshots and one of the best touch, in general.

But I love the Djokovic dropshot. Djokovic backhand dropshot, I think, it's a really good one. When he does it, it's a really nice one.

Apart of that, a couple of them, probably Dimitrov has a good one. Great touch, as well. It's the first players that come to my mind. Probably a few of them more, but those three, I would choose those three.

Q. I saw you juggle during warm-up before matches. I want to know, why are you doing that? And if it's help you for your focus before a match?

CARLOS ALCARAZ: Well, honestly, it's because my physio told me to do it. And I just obey, obey him (smiling). So I don't know if it's helpful or not, but I took it as a routine. Everything went well since I started to do it, so why sort of change.

So I just keep it like that, and if my physio says it or I need to do it, I just, I'm gonna do it, for sure.

Q. When did you start to do it?

CARLOS ALCARAZ: A couple of years ago. Yeah, a couple of years ago from now.

Q. My colleagues said about dropshots. I don't know if you know, but the official drink of Indian Wells, the name is Dropshot, and it's tequila with pineapple. I was wondering, you are very good at dropshots. Have you ever tasted the drink? And you like the most the dropshot on court or off court?

CARLOS ALCARAZ: I haven't tried it, to be honest. I haven't tried it. When the tournament is finished, probably I will just taste a little bit, and let's see how it taste. But not yet.

So far I have to choose the dropshot on court. So far. So far.
