The first-ever 5K Run kicked off a very special day in Tennis Paradise, with 2018 champion Naomi Osaka joining an enthusiastic group to complete the fun-filled course around the grounds. The fan-friendly walk/run offered participants a rare, up-close look at the world-class Indian Wells Tennis Garden, as the tournament opened its gates early to welcome runners and walkers of all fitness levels.
Mingling and sharing some morning cardio with a four-time major champion — and one of the sport’s most iconic players — added an extra layer of excitement for everyone involved. The positive energy carried throughout the morning and set the tone for a full day of amusement, camaraderie, and adventure for fans of all ages.
At 12 PM, Tennis Paradise came to life once again as fans streamed in for a free Family Day celebration. With smiles as wide as the desert sky, kids called the shots — leading parents and grandparents alike to a variety of activities, including a climbing wall, bungee trampoline, face painting, limbo, and hula hoop.
The festivities blended seamlessly with a full slate of tennis across the grounds, as fans enjoyed the opportunity to watch their favorite pros fine-tune their games ahead of this year’s tournament. Special guest appearances — including two-time Grand Slam runner-up Amanda Anisimova — gave attendees the chance to spend time with real-life tennis heroes on a day that truly offered something for everyone.
On a picture-perfect afternoon, kids lined up on Practice Court 4 for the opportunity to rally with the World No. 6, with some young players displaying polish and power that could one day propel them to stardom. Hubert Hurkacz, Jennifer Brady and Cameron Norrie also took the court with kids, while aspiring players participated in clinics led by accredited staff members on other practice courts.

Saturday’s celebration marked just the beginning. Sunday continues the excitement, with women’s qualifying underway and practice sessions open to fans inside the stadium courts as well as throughout the practice courts. On Monday, the BNP Paribas Open Main Draw Reveal presented by Tennis Channel takes place from 3 PM–4 PM, when the tournament draws will be unveiled live on the big screens in Stadium Plaza.
Qualifying concludes on Tuesday, March 3, and main draw action officially begins in Tennis Paradise on Wednesday, March 4.
