Madison Keys vs. Aryna Sabalenka

American Aims To Deny Sabalenka Threepeat

One constant in women’s tennis over the last two seasons has been Aryna Sabalenka’s absolute dominance in the Australian summer. Sabalenka is the two-time defending champion in Melbourne, and she’s got herself in prime position for a third consecutive title after producing another brilliant run of tennis Down Under to start to the season.

But standing in her way is American Madison Keys, who stole the show in the semifinals with a thrilling comeback win over No. 2 seed and 2024 BNP Paribas Open Champion Iga Swiatek. Keys prevailed in an extraordinary 5-7, 6-1, 7-6(8) victory, earning her a well-deserved spot in her second career Grand Slam final and first since her runner-up finish at the 2017 US Open.

It will be a hard-hitting affair as two of the most powerful ball strikers on Tour meet in what’s sure to be an action-packed championship match.

Sabalenka could become the first women's player to win three consecutive AO titles since Martina Hingis (1997-1999).

Alexander Zverev vs. Jannik Sinner

Can the German snap Sinner’s streak of hardcourt dominance?

A much-anticipated semifinal showdown between Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic was met with an unfortunate result as the Serbian was forced to retire after the first set due to injury. Djokovic later revealed in press that he had sustained a torn muscle, and was simply unable to continue on. Djokovic’s withdrawal now sets the stage for Zverev to make his third Grand Slam final appearance, although the German is 0-2 in his previous two tries.

Zverev will have his hands full with defending Australian Open champion Jannik Sinner on the other side of the net. Sinner – the winner of both hardcourt Majors in 2024 – has picked up right where he left off to start the 2025 season. The Italian has dropped just two sets in Melbourne so far, and now stands just one match away from adding a third Grand Slam title to his rapidly growing trophycase.

Can Zverev deny Sinner back-to-back crowns in Melbourne and capture his maiden Grand Slam title?
