The Eisenhower Cup just keeps getting better and better.
It was a near sold out crowd in Stadium 2 as eight star-studded mixed doubles pairings took center stage on the eve of main draw play in Tennis Paradise for the fifth ever edition of the Eisenhower Cup in Indian Wells.
This blossoming Indian Wells tradition features the fast-paced Tie Break Tens format where matches are played to just ten points.
The night kicked off with two-time BNP Paribas Open Champion Iga Swiatek and Hubert Hurkacz defeating Jasmine Paolini and Lorenzo Musetti.
Next up was the American team of 2025 Australian Open Champion Madison Keys and Tommy Paul, who secured their victory in Round 1 over Casper Ruud and Maria Sakkari.
In the bottom half of the draw, the team of defending BNP Paribas Open champions Elena Rybakina and Taylor Fritz surged through the competition. First they took out the duo of 2021 US Open Chapion Daniil Medvedev and Amanda Anisimova, then going on to take out defending Eisenhower Cup champions Emma Navarro and Ben Shelton.
The reigning champions Navarro and Shelton were able to get past the fiancée couple of Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter in the first round – but ultimately were not able to defend their crown.
Keys and Paul were able to knock out Team Poland to secure their spot in the title match, where they squared up against the power duo of Fritz and Rybakina.
This power championship matchup was full of hard-hitting, but it was ultimately the duo of former Tennis Paradise champions who proved too much to overcome.
Fritz and Rybakina took the championship match 10-4, giving Fritz his second career Eisenhower Cup title and Rybakina her first. The duo walked away with a $200,000 prize for their title victory.
