Djokovic, Sinner Set For Doubles On Monday In Desert
2 Min Read · March 9, 2026

Novak Djokovic fans will get the chance to see the record 24-time Grand Slam winner twice in Indian Wells on Monday.

After he meets Aleksandar Kovacevic in singles to start play at Stadium 1, he’ll compete in his doubles opener alongside Stefanos Tsitsipas

The wildcards are fourth up at Stadium 3, taking on defending champions Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic

It marks Djokovic’s first doubles contest in the desert since 2019 when he reached the semifinals with Fabio Fognini. The Serb owns one career doubles title, along with his staggering 101 in singles.

Jannik Sinner also takes to the doubles court, partnering Reilly Opelka at Stadium 4. Second up, Sinner and Opelka get top seeds Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos

Sinner — a four-time major champ in singles — landed his lone doubles crown with the 6-foot-11 Opelka in Atlanta in 2021.

He collected his first Indian Wells doubles match win in 2024, when he and fellow Italian Lorenzo Sonego beat Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev

Jannik Sinner takes to the doubles court Monday in Tennis Paradise.

Khachanov and Rublev meet sixth-seeds Hugo Nys and Edouard Roger-Vasselin not before 5 p.m. at Stadium 4.

Khachanov and Rublev know what it’s like to win a Masters 1000 in doubles, triumphing in Madrid in 2023.

Marcelo Melo stood on the other side of the net when Djokovic lost in the doubles semifinals in Indian Wells.

Still going strong at the age of 42, Melo and good friend Alexander Zverev face Felix Auger-Aliassime and Sebastian Korda not before 1:30 p.m. at Stadium 6. Melo and Zverev just won together in Acapulco after Melo teamed up with Joao Fonseca to hoist the trophy at home in Brazil.

They’re followed by Americans Frances Tiafoe and Brandon Nakashima, who tangle with Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz

Andreeva & Mboko back, too

The last match at Stadium 6 pits Mirra Andreeva and Victoria Mboko versus Hailey Baptiste and Jelena Ostapenko, a singles and doubles Slam winner.

Teens Andreeva and Mboko beat Australian Open champions Elise Mertens and Zhang Shuai in the first round.
