
Twenty-four coveted main draw spots are on the line Tuesday in the California desert as qualifying concludes for both the men and women, highlighted by several intriguing matchups.
Six Americans will take the court on a busy day, with five scheduled for Stadium 4, including all-American matchups between Taylor Townsend and Akasha Urhobo on the women’s side and Mackenzie McDonald and Trevor Svajda on the men’s side.
Urhobo and Svajda, both 19, are bidding for their first main draw appearances.
Eight Australians are also in action, with five men and three women representing the Green and Gold. Top seed Katie Boulter of Great Britain and Vit Kopriva of Czechia are also set to compete, on Stadium 5.

It will also be an active day on the practice courts. Carlos Alcaraz, Venus Williams, Iga Swiatek and Taylor Fritz are scheduled for Stadium 1, while Aryna Sabalenka and Amanda Anisimova will practice together on Stadium 2. Coco Gauff, Novak Djokovic and Sebastian Korda are slated for Stadium 3.
